Abu Dhabi has won the city destination of the year award for the second consecutive year at the UK’s Travel Agents Choice Awards during London’s World Travel Market this week.
Nearly 1,000 UK travel agents voted in the awards, which encompass 42 categories.
“It is a particular honour to win this award,” said Mubarak Al Nuaimi, Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA) Abu Dhabi’s director of promotions and overseas offices.
He said the new Abu Dhabi cruise terminal starts operating in December, museums will soon to open in Al Ain, and landmark hotels and theme park attractions are planned.
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, was named best Middle East airline and Rotana Hotels & Resorts won the best Middle East hotel award.
