Carrefour of France plans to open hypermarkets in Sulaimaniyah and Dohuk in Iraqi Kurdistan, Carrefour Iraq country manager Alain Enjalbert told the MEED Kurdistan Projects conference in Erbil this afternoon.
Carrefour’s first mall in the region was opened in Erbil in 2012.
“There are challenges working in this market in logistics and in import regulations,” Enjalbert said. “We are calling on the Kurdistan Regional Government to address these issues.”
