Khesht field production to start by March

Crude oil production at Khesht field will start by the end of the Iranian financial year in March 2016, operator to the field’s development projects said today.

Managing director of South Zagros Oil & Gas Production Company Gholamhussein Montazeri said output will be 20,000 barrels a day (b/d) initially, the Shana newsagency reported.

It will rise above 30,000 b/d once phase two of its development is finished.

Khesht, which is 45 kilometres from the south-western city of Kazeroun, is estimated to contain 1 billion barrels of oil in place, of which 270,000 million barrels of recoverable light oil.
