Higher UAE gasoline prices prompt filling station plan

Adnoc Distribution, the retail gasoline division of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), plans to open 125 new service stations across the UAE.

The state news agency Wam reported Adnoc Distribution chief executive Abdulla al-Dhaheri as saying that it will use “the minor profit margin” that it will enjoy from the deregulation of dometic gasoline prices which comes into effect on Saturday to build new service stations.

“The new direction of deregulating the prices will allow Adnoc Distribution to leverage its expansion plans to meet the rising demand for petroleum and allied products by the public in line with the sustained urban growth the UAE is witnessing across all regions,” Al-Dhaheri said.
