Chahabar port deal signed with India, Afghanistan

Iran, India and Afghanistan today signed an agreement in Tehran to establish a transit and transportation corridor which centres on Chabahar port in the south-west of the Islamic republic.

The Chabahar Trilateral Agreement was signed in the presence of Iran’s President Rouhani, his Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This is Modi’s first trip to Iran since he took office. He signed a contract to build and operate the Chabahar port.
