Carlson Rezidor considers Saadiyat Island resort: The National

The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is considering plans to run a resort and an hotel on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi daily The National reports this morning

“Resort hotels also attract their own level of business travellers as people look to tag on not just business to their events and meetings, but also the leisure element to a stay,” The National quotes Mark Willis, area vice president for Middle East and sub Saharan Africa at Carlson Rezidor, as saying.

The company is also planning to launch the luxury Quorvus Collection in the UAE and bring the mid-scale Radisson Red to Dubai, The National reported Willis as saying. The Park Inn by Radisson will open in Al Barsha in March and in an area near Deira Clock Tower by May.

Carlson Rezidor has five properties under construction in Dubai and Ajman. They are due to open in the next 18 months.
